TOKİ Has Built Over 1.3 Million Buildings in 20 Years

Recently, President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, shared impressive statistics: over the past 20 years, the Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) has constructed more than 1.3 million buildings. This achievement is particularly noteworthy, given that the buildings constructed by TOKİ withstood the devastating earthquake of February 6, 2023. It is important to note that over 90% of the buildings that collapsed during the earthquake were built to standards that existed before 1999 and did not meet current requirements.

Since 2003, TOKİ has built more than 1.351 million buildings. These are not just apartments but full-fledged structures, highlighting the scale and significance of their work. As part of the urban transformation program, over 3.3 million apartments have been successfully completed across the country.

Every month, and sometimes even every week, TOKİ launches new projects and initiatives. For example, nearly seven hundred residences will be allocated to those in need in Gaziosmanpaşa.
